Sexual function changes, including
decreased libido, sexual receptivity and pleasure from sex are
controlled by the hormone testosterone. In 2008
doctors classify women who experience loss of sexual desire, lack of
sexual arousal and low libido as having female sexual
dysfunction (FSD).
Scientific studies show that up to 43% of women aged between 18 and 59
years experience some degree of sexual dysfunction – poor sex drive,
low libido, lack of sexual desire.
Many women with low libido also have low testosterone levels. Treatment
with the hormone testosterone using testosterone cream significantly
improves low libido, sexual fulfilment and quality of life in women
with low testosterone blood levels. The testosterone hormone cream
replaces testosterone due to the ovaries underproduction of
testosterone. Female testosterone levels decline with age (50% between
age 20 and 40 years of age), premature ovarian failure, surgical
removal of the ovaries (oophorectomy), medication use and use of
estrogens in hormone replacement therapy. Low libido and loss of sex
drive are typical symptoms. In 2008 these symptoms improve with the use
of testosterone hormone cream which increases blood testosterone
levels. Additionally testosterone cream improves motivation, fatigue
and lethargy and personal well-being which usually is associated with
low libido due to low testosterone.
Male and Female Testosterone Production
Differs With Age

Low testosterone levels affect human sex drive.
